FEERUM for the Agricultural and Industrial Company Smogory

FEERUM S.A. completed the construction of a facility with a total capacity of 3,700 tons for the Agricultural and Industrial Company Smogory in the Lubuskie Voivodeship.
For several years, Agricultural and Industrial Company Smogory has been conducting activity focused on plant production, animal production – milk and beef cattle, as well as the production of spirit in an agricultural distillery.

– Building a new facility was an urgent necessity. The existing grain warehouses were over 30 years old and heavily worn out. Due to the fact that, in addition to feed grain, we also produce consumer grain, we had to adapt the silos and devices to modern requirements, including environmental requirements. Our previous dryer was fired with fine coal and therefore, in the present reality, its further use was no longer possible. – explains Andrzej Babiak, president of the Agricultural and Industrial Company in Smogory.

We have used 10 hopper silos in the facility, two of which are intended for buffers for the SGG continuous dryer and also: bucket elevators, chain and belt conveyors, manual and electrical shutters as well as technological connections with a filling with abrasion-resistant material. We have equipped our silos with a temperature measurement system. The entire facility was connected to a computer control system.

– The implementation of this investment was preceded by quite a long and deep market penetration of silo and dryer producers. We decided on the FEERUM company because it produces very good quality devices. First of all, it is also a company with Polish capital, and its headquarters and production plant are relatively close. Hence, we can contact the company at any time regarding service or replacement of spare parts. The quality of the devices manufactured by FEERUM was the most important determinant for us. There are many companies on the Polish market, but it was FEERUM that we chose to build our new battery of silos. – emphasizes Andrzej Babiak.
